Separating The Art

What's the character breakdown?

5 women and 1 man.

How long is it?

It's a full-length play, 95 pages long.  With an intermission, it plays at about 1:40.

Has it been produced?

Sort-of. The good folks at Cone Man Running in Houston, TX had a production scheduled that was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The production was taped and was on YouTube in April 2020.

Has it won any awards?

It was named as a semifinalist for FutureFest 2020 at the Dayton Playhouse, and was a finalist for UP Theatre’s Renewal Reading Series.

What's it about?

When the work of an artist with a checkered past (and present) is vandalized, gallery curator Riley must wrestle with the notion of separating the art from the artist, and if that's even possible. Once a group that purchases work by problematic artists enters the picture, Riley tries to save the painting she loves, and suffers the consequences.
